Join Us For a “Neighbourhood Scroll” Hillcrest Community Centre
OCT 1, 2016 12pm - 4pm Hillcrest Community Centre | 4575 Clancy Loranger Way (Main Lobby) FREE | No registration required
Join Jerry Whitehead and June Yun to create a “neighbourhood scroll” that draws connections between cultures that are part of this place that we all call home.
Vancouver is a culturally diverse city where indigenous peoples have lived for thousands of years and where many others have come to settle as well.
The origins of the scroll can be traced back thousands of years to ancient cultures around the world. It can used to tell a story and relay important visual and written information.
Together with Jerry and June you can experiment using various drawing tools and techniques, exploring indigenous forms and Chinese calligraphy and create this neighbourhood collaborative contemporary drawing.
Participants of all ages and experience are welcome.
